Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) secured their place in the 2025 UEFA Champions League final with a 2–1 victory over Arsenal at the Parc des Princes, completing a 3–1 aggregate win in the semifinals.
In the second leg, PSG capitalized on their counter-attacking prowess. Fabián Ruiz opened the scoring in the 27th minute, and Achraf Hakimi doubled the lead in the 72nd. Arsenal's Bukayo Saka pulled one back in the 76th minute, but it wasn't enough to overturn the deficit.
PSG's goalkeeper, Gianluigi Donnarumma, was instrumental, making several crucial saves to thwart Arsenal's advances.
Ousmane Dembélé: The French winger continued his stellar form, providing the assist for Hakimi's goal. Dembélé has now set a record for the most goal contributions by a player at a French club in a single Champions League campaign, with 12 (8 goals, 4 assists).
Vitinha: Despite missing a penalty in the second leg, the midfielder's overall performance was commendable, having been named man of the match in the first leg.
PSG's journey to the final has been marked by resilience and tactical acumen under coach Luis Enrique. They overcame formidable opponents, including Liverpool in the Round of 16 and Aston Villa in the quarterfinals.
They will face Inter Milan in the final on May 31, 2025, at the Allianz Arena in Munich. This marks PSG's second Champions League final appearance, with their previous being in 2020.
