The leader of the Conservative Party of Canada, Pierre Poilievre, issued the following statement on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr:

“As the crescent of the holiday rises in the sky, Muslim families in Canada and around the world celebrate the arrival of Eid al-Fitr, signaling the end of the blessed month of Ramadan.

During the past thirty days, more than 1.7 million Muslims in Canada engaged in fasting, prayer, and acts of charity, embodying the core values of Islam: mercy, generosity, and community service.

Today, as families and friends gather to perform the Eid prayer and share meals and joy, we all remember the spirit of gratitude, hope, and unity that defines the essence of this joyous occasion.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the Muslim community in Canada for the goodness and valuable contributions it provides, not only during Ramadan but throughout the year, enriching our social fabric and enhancing the spirit of solidarity in our shared homeland.
