Tehran – Arab Canada News
The commander of the ground forces of the Iranian army, Brigadier General Kiomars Haidari, confirmed that Iran is among “the strongest armies in the world” and that it will not allow any enemy to commit “any evil” against the country, emphasizing the utmost readiness of his forces and full reliance on local capabilities in the defense industries sector.
Haidari stated, in remarks reported by the official “IRNA” agency on Saturday, that “our readiness is now at its highest levels, allowing us to impose sustainable security within our borders, unlike some neighboring countries that rely on foreign powers.” He added: “We do not rely on any external party for our military preparations.”
Haidari pointed to Iran's possession of a “triple plan” to tighten control over its borders, affirming that implementation is proceeding with notable progress, despite the complex regional circumstances.
Simultaneous messages from the Revolutionary Guard
In a related context, the commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, Hossein Salami, renewed his country's position rejecting the initiation of any war, but at the same time emphasized that Iran is prepared for any potential confrontation. Salami stated: “The enemy is in our line of fire everywhere, and the Zionist entity is like a table in front of us,” confirming that Iran possesses “the necessary software and equipment to defeat Israel, despite unlimited American support for it.”
Background: Mutual escalation with Washington
These Iranian military statements come at a time when the relationship between Tehran and Washington is experiencing sharp escalation. U.S. President Donald Trump had announced last March that he sent a direct message to Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, expressing his preference to reach a diplomatic agreement regarding the Iranian nuclear program.
Despite that, Trump later threatened to use military options, stating: “If Iran does not agree to a new nuclear deal, it will witness bombing like it has never seen before.”
These mutual statements indicate the ongoing tension in the region, amidst internal and external pressures surrounding the Iranian nuclear file, and complexities related to Tehran's regional interventions and Western support for Israel.
